- Hi USB is a new I/O buss standard, hopping to archeive simular results to
- Apple's FireWire buss but at a slower speed and cheaper price (less than a
- doller on the mother board). It is meant to replace serial, parrallel,
- mouse, controller, floppy ports etc, with one high speed (10-12Mbits/s)
- serial port. This port daisy chains from one device to another and also to
- hubs which may contain more than one port with a small width cable. Anybody
- remember the 64, well this is a simular improved idea that has the support
- of many big companies including Intel, and many motherboards are expected to
- come out with this as standard.
-
- Now what I would like to ask is anybody making one of these ports for the
- Amiga, which would in future mean a source of cheap expansion (the port
- could be used internally for hard drives I think (reducing the wiring)), if
- not heres a chance (oppertunity), let me know if you are.
